Emerson Electric Co. Reports Strong Revenue Growth in Latest Quarter

Emerson Electric Co. reported net sales of $4.1 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2024, marking a 22% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The Intelligent Devices segment saw an 11% increase in sales, while the Software and Control segment experienced a significant 55% increase, boosted by the impact of the Test & Measurement acquisition.


The company's underlying sales, which exclude foreign currency translation, acquisitions, and divestitures, were up 10%. This was driven by an 8% increase in volume and a 2% increase in price. The Test & Measurement acquisition contributed a 12% increase to sales. Geographically, underlying sales were up 9% in the U.S. and 11% internationally, with the Americas, Europe, and Asia, Middle East & Africa regions seeing increases of 8%, 10%, and 15% respectively.


Despite the overall increase in sales, the divestiture of Metran, Emerson's Russia-based manufacturing subsidiary, deducted 1% from sales.


The company's Software and Control sales saw a significant boost due to the impact of the Test & Measurement acquisition, highlighting the positive impact of strategic acquisitions on the company's revenue growth.
